Chinese TV series to be distributed overseas

Hit Chinese TV series “Legend of Fu Yao,” which depicts the life of an empress, will be distributed to a wider global audience.
Later this year, the epic series will be aired on major video websites such as YouTube, Viki and DramaFever, with both English and Chinese subtitles.
Broadcasting platforms in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Africa will also introduce the series to local audiences.
Starring Yang Mi and Ethan Juan, the series is produced by Linmon Pictures and Tencent Penguin Pictures. So far it has received more than 350 million views on Tencent’s v.qq.com.
According to Su Xiao, CEO of Linmon Pictures, more and more home-grown series are popular among foreign viewers because of progress in storytelling and cinematography.
Chinese actress Yang Mi plays the lead role.
