          Waterside Science Fiction Museum |“在水一方”科幻館

Shanghai's first "Three-Body" sci-fi museum is set to open in Fengxian New City near Jinhai Lake.

From above, the museum resembles a futuristic floating art installation, with a dual-shell structure that has been pre-approved by Guinness World Records as the largest of its type.

Inside, visitors can participate in a sci-fi experience inspired by Liu Cixin's novel "Three-Body." The second floor houses an interactive installation that combines cutting-edge technology with human civilization's voyage into space exploration.

The Science Theater will provide live science interpretations and multimedia presentations, deciphering the scientific principles underlying the novel. This venue is not just a sci-fi fan's dream, but also a gathering place for experts and enthusiasts to have in-depth talks about the future of science and technology.

          Chuan Tai Park | 船臺(tái)公園

After a year of renovations, Chuan Tai Park on Fuxing Island has been transformed into a stunning waterfront area along the Huangpu River.

The park, once home to Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard (滬東中華造船廠), retains its industrial atmosphere with two large shipyards and over 20 towering gantry cranes. Walking through it feels like going back in time, enveloped in a century of industrial history.

The park offers breathtaking views of the shipyard's docks and a riverside bird sanctuary.

Chuan Tai Park, the first waterfront space to open in the Yangpu Riverside Fuxing Island area, provides a unique destination for leisure and city discovery.

          Opening: First quarter, 2025

One Step Garden (Songhu Railway Platform Station) | 一尺花園(淞滬鐵路月臺(tái)店)

One Step Garden cafe’s newest branch in Elite Valley, Baoshan District, officially opened in March.

Set on the former site of the Songhu Railway, this cafe breathes new life into the historic landmark. The railway, which dates back to China’s first railroad in 1876, played a key role in the Battle of Shanghai (淞滬會(huì)戰(zhàn)) in 1937 before being decommissioned in 1997.

The venue retains its original train carriages, tracks, and a vintage locomotive, creating a nostalgic feel. The interior has preserved the layout of old train compartments, featuring retro seating, warm lighting, and lush greenery, allowing visitors to savor coffee while embracing the flow of time.

Dining here is a throwback to classic train journeys, with repurposed seating areas providing a unique dining experience inside a vintage train carriage.

Railways aren’t just about destinations — they symbolize journeys toward the future. Come and listen to the echoes of the tracks while witnessing the rebirth of history.
